The ball bearing Orbit Blocks ™ boast the highest ratio of strength-to-weight available. This is possible thanks to polymeric materials reinforced entirely composite and multiple mounting options.
Their precision design provides the optimum number of ball bearings to reduce friction to a minimum, while the weight reduction is achieved through the use of composite materials reinforced with fibres in the head of the block, in the arms of the cleat and becket.
Kilogram for kilogram of working load BB Orbit Blocks ™ is the lightest in the world. To get the maximum performance, we designed the load straps heavy duty steel, the uprights of the headboard, the crickets and the accessories for the cleat. Through an intense activity of research and development, we replaced virtually all metal components with polymers for high technology, and the equivalent in fiber.
Weight and volume are further reduced in the different configurations of blocks. The block with the bearing ball and a single has a system of attack to pulley shaft. The result? The weight as low as possible.
The blocks multi-sheave, have only the cheeks intermediate individual and a provision of the head ultra-lightweight and efficient. Other brands connect their individual blocks with a channel of heavy steel in the upper part of the block, with cheeks extra unnecessary added bulk and weight extra not found in Ronstan Orbit Blocks ™.
The proven bearing system two-stage Ronstan series 30 and larger) features ball bearings in acetal for high-compression, and a bearing for the secondary to full contact. This gives minimum friction across the full range of work load.
The system of pulleys, and bearings is supported by a load frame fibre reinforced, computer-modeled and optimized with advanced methods of stress analysis. The Dyneema® Link, used in the blocks multi-sheave, is produced with fibre SK75 high-specification, 10 times stronger and lightweight steel, and provides the final connection from the block to the load point.
The single block is easily anchored to a point of attack and can also accept links and chains with Dyneema® for a variety of alternative attack efficient. The Dyneema® Link used in the blocks multi-sheave is easily mounted and secured by a removable pin. The Dyneema® Link can also be removed and replaced with a carabiner, by a custom or by a strop.
These blocks are much more compatible with the lines with Dyneema® / Spectra®, the connection points and the straps in the rolled carbon compared to traditional blocks with loops or shackles in stainless steel.
The head of the two-way in the block of single anchor can be aligned with an orientation of 0 ° or 90 °, while the block-to-hub, single allows a complete joint.
The flexible Dyneema® Link used in the blocks multi-sheave provides orientation of 0 ° or 90 °. Connects directly to the head of the block rather than a central pillar in the middle. This reduces the weight and provides the lowest profile possible while still allowing a complete joint.
Beckets have been carefully designed to minimize the height.
Cleats high-performance
The Ronstan BB Orbit Blocks ™ are equipped with arms and the reinforced reinforced fibre lightweight and optimized to the required angle for the cut. Snowshoe racing Ronstan with reinforcement in carbon fibre, tested in competition, ensures a secure hold of the rope with low effort entry and exit and are fitted with fairleads for fast action from any angle.
* RF35100 and RF35100D have struts and shackles in stainless steel.
